# Data license

`brain_points.json` and `circuit.json` are derived from the publicly released
FlyWire connectome data products (FAFB v783), downloaded from
[FlyWire Codex](https://codex.flywire.ai) and processed by `../etl.py`.

FlyWire data is licensed under
[CC BY-NC 4.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/)
(Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International). These derived files are
likewise released under CC BY-NC 4.0: they may be shared and adapted with
attribution, for non-commercial use.

## MaleCNS supplement

`locomotor_circuit.json` and `locomotor_report.json` are separately derived from
the [MaleCNS v1.0 public connectome](https://male-cns.janelia.org/download/) and
are licensed under **CC BY 4.0**, matching that source. Attribute the MaleCNS
collaboration (FlyEM/HHMI Janelia, University of Cambridge, MRC Laboratory of
Molecular Biology, and Google Research). See [LOCOMOTOR_PROVENANCE.md](LOCOMOTOR_PROVENANCE.md)
for exact source hashes, reproduction, extraction scope, and modeling limits.
This addition does not change the license of the original FlyWire-derived files.
